Code of Conduct
v In order to maintain discipline in the college, the following rules and regulations will have to be strictly abided every student enrolled in the college.
v Every student attending the college shall necessarily wear the college dress code which is notified at the beginning of academic session. No student will be allowed to enter the college in casual dress.
v Wearing of precious ornament is strictly banned in the college.
v No student will be allowed to enter the college after 10:30 am and leave the college before 2:30 Pm during peak academic session.
v Students (girls) who want to leave the college during working hours should have proper permission of parents/guardian on the basis of which the convener discipline committee/principal may permit her to leave.
v No outsider/stranger or relative of any student is allowed to enter the college without a valid reason. Students accompanied by kids/guests will not be allowed to enter the college.
v Unlawful assembly of the students in the college is banned.
v Students will not be allowed to enter the college premises without valid college identity card.
v Ragging in any form on or off the college campus is strictly banned under law.
v Any student found misbehaving in the college with staff or faculty shall be liable to punishment under law.
v Use of mobile phones in the classroom or college premises is strictly prohibited. Anybody who violates rule will have to face disciplinary action under rules.
v A student wishing to withdraw from the college rolls can do so formally in writing and the application for withdrawal must be countersigned by her parents/guardian.
v A student is expected to maintain silence in and around the classrooms
v Use of polythene bags is prohibited inside the college.
v Students deputed fro co-curricular activities will be treated on duty
v Sticking of posters in the college is an offence.
v Students resorting to unfair means in any examination are liable to be issued a bad character certificate.
v In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the students shall adhere to follow the following additional precautions
1. Unvaccinated student for Covid-19 shall not be allowed to enter the college premises.
2. Use if face masks and maintaining social distances is mandatory for every students within the college premises
Employees
1. The employees (Teaching Non-teaching and local fund) are required to follow the service conduct as laid down in CSR rules and also the conduct rules notified by college Administration from time to time.
2. Being a women college, all staff members are advised not to gossip with the students with in the college campus.
3. The mail staff members are advised not to roam around the female washrooms so that their privacy does not get compromised.

anti-ragging committee minutes of meeting Policy document on Code of ethics Mechanism for Grievences Redressal & Ragging Policy Prohibition of ragging Act 2011 Minutes of meeting of college discipline/Anti-ragging Committee THE-JK-GOVERNMENT-EMPLOYEES-(CONDUCT)-RULES,-1971A National Flag Unfurling Ceremony was held at Government Degree College (Women), Kupwara at 8:30 a.m. The Principal unfurled the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National anthom. Faculty members, and staff participated in the ceremony, which was conducted in a dignified and patriotic atmosphere.
On 01 January 2026, Dr. Bilal Ahmad Dar formally assumed charge as the new Principal of the college. The occasion was marked with a warm and cordial welcome by the faculty members, who felicitated the Principal with bouquets and flowers.
As part of the Republic Day Celebrations, 2026, the college successfully organized a Patriotic Song Competition on 22nd January 2026. The programme was conducted with great enthusiasm and patriotic zeal, witnessing active participation from both college faculty members and students. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Wani, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students. In his address, he highlighted the significance of Republic Day and emphasized the importance of organizing such activities to nurture patriotism and national values among students.
As part of the syllabus, the students of 7th Semester along with Faculty members, Prof. Muneer Ahmad Khan, Dr Maqsooda and Prof. Farooq Ahmad Shah went to visit tribal villages of Kalaroos for academic field visit. The primary objective of this visit is to provide students with first hand exposure to tribal life and to help them understand the socio-cultural and economic conditions of tribal communities.
